Dafnos is a village located near the Kokkinos (Red) River approximately 4 hours away from Athens, l.5 hours from Amfissa, and 14 km from Mornos Lake.

The village had the historical name of Vostinitsa until 1927. It has many historical monuments:
Aghios Nikolaos Church, according to tradition, was built in the mid-17th century.

- The elementary school was built in the 18th century.
Other important sights are:
- the Askitotripa Cave, the windmill, the Church of Profiti Ilias at a 1800 metre altitude and a series of picturesque small churches (like Koimisi tis Theotokou, Aghios Chrisostomos, Agios Georgios, Agioi Taxiarches, Aghios Ioannis, and many others).

Vardousia has fields that are an excellent biotope for wild prey (wild pigs, hares, and partridges.) In the mountains there are also some rare species of eagles.

- The European Hiking Trail E4 starts from the Pyrenees Mountains and crosses Greece from northern Florina to the southeastern part of Peloponissos in Githeio. This way all visitors have the opportunity to admire nature in Greece. The hiking trail can be divided into 3 parts: the northern part to Meteora; the middle part to Delphi; and the southern part to Githeio.
